Reimagining Education

What can I do? I want my child to transfer…

I want my child to transfer to a neighboring accredited district…

If you are a resident of an unaccredited school district, your child has the right to transfer to a school district in the county where you live or in a neighboring county. [167.131 statute].

While Missouri law grants you the right to transfer to a neighboring school, there are very few districts that are actually enrolling children from unaccredited districts. However, the Children’s Education Alliance of Missouri has been working for many months with a team of lawyers, lawmakers, and education reform advocates to help families that are interested in exercising their rights. If you choose to try to register your child, CEAM is more than happy to offer you assistance. However, it is important to note that this process is likely to take more time than you might like. Additionally, it might require you to communicate regularly with lawmakers, the media, and other parents.

If you are still interested in pursuing your rights, please complete this survey.  CEAM will contact you with in 3 days of completing the survey.
