Reimagining Education

New poll shows almost half of parents nationwide want to send their children to a different school

A new poll just released by National School Choice Week shows that the demand for educational options across the country continues to grow.

According to the poll, almost half of parents nationwide (45.9%) are planning to send their children to a different school next year with a majority of those parents saying that they want a better educational environment for their children.

The desire for better educational options is higher among minority families with 60.6% of black families, 52.5% of Hispanic families, and 49.6% of Asian families planning on sending their children to a different school next year.

The national numbers reflect similar responses to state-level polling conducted on a rotating basis by EdChoice.

According to their most recent polling, 69% of all adults and 77% of parents in Missouri support private school choice programs like MOScholars, and 65% of all adults and 71% of parents in Missouri support charter schools.

The majority of Missouri parents also say that if tuition and transportation were not issues then they would prefer to either send their children to either a private school or public charter school or to homeschool instead of sending their children to traditional district schools.
