Reimagining Education

Welcome Lorna Kurdi to the CEAM team!

The Children’s Education Alliance of Missouri is pleased to welcome our newest staff member, Lorna Kurdi, Field Director. Lorna brings extensive campaign and organizing experience to the role, and we are happy to have her!

Lorna Kurdi is a seasoned political operative who draws on an eclectic background in political campaigns and organizing, primarily in field management, strategy and targeting.  Working for Hillary Clinton during her presidential nomination bid, she successfully led field teams of up to 40 organizers and interns in six states, including New Hampshire, Missouri, Texas, Pennsylvania, Oregon and South Dakota.  She has worked for many candidates across the country and right here in Missouri.  For the last 4 years she has been working within the labor movement in Missouri including political coordinator for The American Federation of Teachers.  Of all the places she has lived, St Louis is still her favorite.  She is a recent addition to the Benton Park neighborhood.

Growing up with an art teacher as a mother, she understands the impact that incredible, engaged teachers have on children. Lorna believes that the key to proper education for all is high quality teachers who are paid like professionals.   She understands that education is the only platform for which we have to raise our future society and it is important to her to make sure that all people have access to a good education.  After working on campaigns for eight years, she realized that we could solve many of the problems of society now if we were to focus on improving the educational system for our youth. That is why she is happy to be joining the Children’s Education Alliance Missouri team.

Lorna can be reached at lkurdi@ceamteam.org or by phone at 314-454-6544.
