CEAM TEAM IN ACTION: CEAM helps students in need, supports parents

As students and parents are busy preparing for the next school year, the CEAM Team has been just as active as we reach out to parents and partner with a number of organizations to make sure students have what they need to succeed in the next school year.

Last week the CEAM Team spent two days at KIPP Wisdom for their back-to-school events.

The Team gave out back to school supplies and talked with parents about how they can be more involved in expanding school choice and sharing stories of charter school student success.

The Team also recently partnered with the Total Man Conference, a multi-day event sponsored by Shiloh Temple Men’s Ministry, which provided free back-to-school supplies, free haircuts, free health and dental screenings and a variety of other services to St. Louis area students in need on July 14 and July 15.

CEAM provided 500 backpacks to be given away during the event and manned a booth where they helped parents determine the best schools for their children.

The Total Man Conference event was just the first of three back-to-school events that CEAM is helping to sponsor this year.

On August 5, the CEAM Team will be helping the St. Louis Dream Center, 4324 Margaretta Avenue, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. for their annual Back 2 School Blast. The event helps families in the north city neighborhood gear up for the new school year. There will be games, prizes, food, giveaways (including backpacks provided by CEAM), and much more.

Then, on August 14, the CEAM  Team will be at the Cherokee Center, 3200 S. Jefferson, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. for a free Back-To-School Bash. Parents and students can get free backpacks (provided by CEAM), school supplies, lunch, haircuts, health screenings and more.

We hope to see you at some of these great events in the next couple of weeks!
