With a passion for supporting educational, mission and social/human services driven organizations, Jeff has amassed a vast background in non-profit management and constituent development activities, having worked in that sector for 20 years. His current work involves serving Lutheran Hour Ministries (LHM), a global Christian outreach organization, headquartered in St. Louis, MO, specializing in mass media and communication engagement, reaching 100 million people a week in over 50 countries. As Vice President of Constituencies, he manages all relationships with external constituents while also providing leadership to the LHM Foundation as President. Jeff has been instrumental in creating a five-year $242 million strategic/business plan for the organization.
Prior to joining LHM, Jeff served a non-profit entity called OpenSky Education (formerly Educational Enterprises Inc) a charter/voucher school management organization (CMO) based in Waukesha, WI. While at OpenSky, Jeff provided leadership to the development function through the creation of a number of philanthropic funds to launch new schools, build the national team infrastructure and secure lower cost capital dollars to finance new facilities. He worked closely with the CEO, CFO and regional/school leaders to launch new charter and voucher schools in Milwaukee, St. Louis and Phoenix. In addition, he spearheaded the development of a five-year business/expansion plan for the national CMO which included strategic and tactical thinking around the subjects of school educational models, financial modeling, enrollment and retention planning, and plant/operations management.
Jeff has a degree in Political Science from the University of Missouri, Columbia, studied at Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan, and received his Master of Business Administration from Saint Louis University. Born in Taipei, Taiwan to missionary parents, Jeff has a passion for international immersion and cross-cultural engagement. He sits on a number of boards in the St. Louis region that align to his interests in education, family/children support services and community development. His wife, Justine and their four children live in Saint Louis City in the Compton Heights neighborhood.
